It gets even better. The Afula station commander called me mid-afternoon to tell me about my accomodations. Apparently there was no room at the hostel the reserve duty soldiers were staying, so room was arranged for me at a hostel at which some police were staying at who had come up from Tel Aviv. She told me to take the bus with the soldiers to Tiberias & back, but to stay with the police.
I got on the bus and only after we had left Afula did I learn that the soldiers weren’t even staying in Tiberias. The driver yelled at me for asking him to take me to the police’s hostel but agreed to do so. However, I had no way to get back to Afula in the morning. Well, I’m not going to spend the day sitting in Tiberias trying to get back to Afula. The Afula police screwed up the logistics, and I have no intention to of spending tomorrow fighting to get back.
So, I’ll just join the police where they are going: Kyriat Shmona.
Things have a strange way of working out.
Time to keep my head down.
