Ana’s a Gear Freak

Yup…I’ve corrupted her and I’m proud of it!

Tonight we were heading to the grocery store in the Ra’anana mall and were passing by the local gear shop located near the entrance on the lower floor. I think it’s called Tundra. It’s a nice little shop with a good variety of the usual suspects…North Face, Vaude and some others. They do a good job of catering to winter sports with a good selection of ski & boarding clothing around this time of year.

So as I was saying, we were wandering by a gear shop. For me, this obviously means I have to stick my head in just to see if something jumps out at me. I don’t know what…but that perenial “something”. These visits normally infuriate Ana because she then has to stand around for 5-10 minutes watching me wander around the store. Tonight would be different.

We weren’t in there for more than a minute when I turn around and Ana is trying on an Outdoor Research Mithril soft shell jacket. I love OR stuff, but since it’s their own material, the clerks couldn’t compare it to the well-known fabrics such as Schoeller Dryskin and had to call the manager. He had some really great things to say about it, and the next thing I know, Ana now has a soft shell.

She said it “spoke to her” and she had to have it.

After arriving home, she wore it around the house right up until she went to bed.

Yup…she’s corrupted. ;)
