I had a conversation with someone the other night about mtb competitions in Israel. It all started when he asked why I don’t ride much anymore. I said that without the lure of a competition to train for, it sucks a bit of motivation away. So he went and listed all of the rides/competitions he knows about, and I made a case against them one by one.
Now that I sit and think about it, I wonder if someone is doing something I haven’t heard about.
As far as we could figure out, the Gilboa endurance race that I did about 3 yrs ago is the only thing close to what I want, though I’m not a huge fan of the very uphill-heavy course. Beyond that, all of the long rides seem to be on-road and there seem to be no other endurance mtb races.
This is one of those times when I wouldn’t mind being proven wrong, though sadly I am rather skeptical. I’ll have to check out some forums this week to see if I’m missing anything on the schedule.
